Exterior Lighting Options?

What are the popular exterior lighting choices these days (2018)?

I'm building the 10 with the factory cutout in the tips.

On my 6 I have the duck worth landing lights in the leading edge and I have been happy with them, and Whelen nav strode combo on the tips and a white tail light.

Is there a relatively current thread with comparison info?

Thanks

AeroLED is a good option for wingtip and tail NAV/Strobe. I fly with them.

For landing lights, I just got a set of these for the new RV-8 project and have recommended them to the new RV-10 owner as a backfit replacement for the stock Van?s Landing Lights: https://flyleds.com/products/#!/Spot-lights-Individuals/p/108852015/category=0

They mount just like the stock landing light. Simple, light, inexpensive and work well.

Side note - I found the old RV-10 stock landing light to be adequate for my flying. This replacement LED is much brighter and draws less power so it is a no brainer. I do not see any practical need to cut into the wingtips.

I have installed AeroLED Pulsar NS90 and SunTail lights for nav/strobe and also their AeroSun VX lights for taxi/landing lights. For the taxi/landing lights you need to modify the RV-10 wing tips to provide room for these larger lights. Van's sells the lights along with a set of molded wing tips that get cut into the stock wing tips. http://www.vansaircraft.com/cgi-bin...790-140-720&browse=lighting&product=AeroSunVx

Cutting into the stock wing tips wasn't what I wanted to do, but once I did it I found that it wasn't that bad, and it expanded my fiberglass experience. It did add a few hours to the build though.

I'm not flying yet, but expect these will do great for both night flying and also for additional daytime recognition since they have a wig-wag function built in.
