Panel cutout

Looking to enlarge a rectangular cutout in my panel. I can do it carefully with a dremel, but I thought someone may have a better idea.

Use a router with a flush cut bit against a fence of some sort.

A jigsaw worked well for me

Second on the jigsaw. Use a metal cutting blade.

Fast and easy without the setup of a fence or the risk a dremel brings.

Make sure the baseplate on your saw is smooth or you?ll scratch the panel. UHMW tape is a good solution to cover the baseplate. Duct tape would probably work too.

And make sure metal shavings dont get stuck in the duct tape or the masking tape that I have used in the past.

another tool that works quite well for this kinda work is the oscillating saw...
