Does the engine need to be installed to do the cowling in chapter 45? Need to order the finishing kit but I want to get the engine on order soon if it is. Thanks.

Cannot imagine how you would do it and getting the best fit without first installing the engine, throttle body, combustion air duct, baffling and exhaust system. And, holding your tongue right.
The coarse trimming and fine trimming of the cowling halves takes time and patience to get a good tight fit.
