RV-3 Spinner Rear Bulkhead

The rear spinner bulkhead on my RV-3 had a piece crack off at one of the nutplates. This is a vintage (1982) RV-3 with the 4" prop extension and 12" rear spinner bulkhead, fixed pitch composite prop.

I ordered a new bulkhead from Vans, only to discover that the flange on the new bulkhead bends toward the rear, while the old one bends toward the front. The new mount moves the spinner back about an inch, leaving no gap between it and the cowling.

I thought the "screwless" spinner might be the answer, but the fixed pitch bulkhead doesn't have room to get a hand inside to lay up the fiberglass flange.

I'll call Vans tomorrow to see if they sell a "left-hand" bulkhead. Anticipating that they don't, I'm looking for suggestions on how to address this without major surgery to the cowl.

Thanks ... Joe

Let us know what you find out from Vans. I looked at my spinner and it
is from a 84 or 85 kit and has the backplate flange to the rear. It also looks
to be very close to 90 degrees of bend and I was wondering if you could
simply turn it around to face forward. It's not exactly 90 degrees but could
it be adjusted to fit?
