I Need A Hartzell Dimension

Van's mentions using a 2 1/4 spacer to position the spinner backplate off the crank if the prop isn't mounted. Trust but verify. Would someone tell me the dimension from the hub's crank mounting surface to the shoulder (or boss) of the hub where the four spinner bolts protrude. (This surface is touched by the 1/4 bushing plus 1/16 washer between the backplate and hub.)

Assuming you're asking about a two blade compact C hub, as in HC-C2YR-(), that dimension is 2.497".

I used Vans spacer recommendation to position the spinner backplate for cowl fitting.
I was nervous too! Years later, I fit the prop and can confirm that the dimension is correct.
