i don't know if the pic came thru. i attached my old nose gear to my pole barn post and measured travel of gear at fork up and forward. the results are for my own interest and use. the marks on my ruler were fuzzy, my scale wasn't certified and the light was bad. the results surprised me a little.

from no load on the gear it moved up 3/16'''' and forward 3/32''.with 150 lbs load.
with an up load of 300 lbs it moved up 7/16'' and forward 9/32''
with an up load of 450 lbs it moved up 5/8'' and forward 15/32''.

stiff!
