Lycoming Dual P mag

Now that Vans Lycoming engine order page ships with Dual P mag as an option, does anyone know if it’s auto plugs and harness or is it regular aviation style?

That begs a question Why the extra $2500 more to for dual Pmag?
1) Auto harness is much less expensive
2) Auto plugs and adapters are less than regular plugs
3) Sick vs Pmag units are similar in cost

Pmag setup is less than Slick. Only thing I can figure is Lycoming gives an egregiously low credit for the slick mags and harness. If anything it should be less to outfit with Pmag not more.

It appears the dual P-Mags are only available on the Thunderbolt 540

Dual Pmag is available on all non-thunderbolt o and io 320,360,390

It appears that EIS and mags are the only option on the YIO-540 but the other engines (all four cylinder engines) have three (3) ignition options.

In the not too distant past, only one P-Mag with one mag or two mags were available on the other engines also unless you went Thunderbolt where they would allow two P-Mags.

Things change with time and maybe with the new price increase or more experience the 6-cylinder P-Mags may be added.
