A new -8 is born

Herman, you have an outstanding looking RV-8. Congrats on your achievement. Stay safe in first flight and further testing.

Congrats

Outstanding work. Where are you based (airfiled) ? and what about the test flights?
I have my Rv8 at EDML Landshut and will be nice to escort you.

Beautiful airplane - excellent work!

Interesting throttle grip - where did you get that?

Also, did you bend the stick to accommodate the (Infinity?) grip?

Thanks for all the nice words.

Yes the kit is #83472, took me 1.5 years - not much activity besides building.
Javier, I´m in EDMG, not too far from Landshut, may be 40 RV minutes.
The throttle grip is a modified Hurst Shifter, got it from SummitRacing black anodized with momentary push button.

That is a great looking airplane. Wonderful job on the paint scheme, very appealing. I'm planning the paint for my RV-8 now and your airplane is a good inspiration.

Very Nice RV-8 - congratulations!

Have you enlarged the opening of the gear towers without closing them? Do you have any infos about this modification?

All the best,

Can't go wrong with the paint scheme of the 352nd - Blue Nose *******s of Bodney

After I made the cutout in the gear towers I fabricated cover plates out of .040 Alclad. These cover plates were not on when I made the pic. I left the lower part open for visual checking without unscrewing the plates every time. On top of one plate there will eventually go on an egress hammer or a nylon pouch. I also made a mod to retorque the gear bolts from below the fuse, so I hope to get away with mainly visual checking through the existing holes.
