Thumbs up Videos: Flying the Dragon Mountains (South Africa)

UPDATE 16 OCT: I managed to update one video with an EPIC edition. If you like long uncut sequences view the epic edition instead: https://youtu.be/XR6c7FrL0Eg
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Drakensberg (Dragon Mountains in Afrikaans, named due to resembles of a dragons back, is a significant mountain range in South Africa, stretches 600 miles long and have peaks of 11,000 ft)

I recently had the opportunity to fly these mountains and surrounding areas in good weather, and could get nice and close up and personal.

I hope these 3 videos capture the splendour, and cement the flying memories.

Enjoy!

Default Video spectacular

Super flying, scenery and video!! Where was your camera mounted and how?

The terrain looked mostly limestone but it went by pretty fast. Do you know the age of the rocks ?

Hi "dabney"

Thank you, I fit the camera with the wingtip attach screw. I used the screw closest to the leading edge, countersink the gopro foot to take the screw head, fit a counter sink washer so the gopro foot does not pull through.

The rock is mostly Basalt and Quartzite, you can read more over here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drakensberg

Rudi, Great to see your voice again!

Those plateaus and rock faces are spectacular!

Not to mention how awesome these flying machines are as well!
