After two years of flying, I finally painted my RV-10. Now when I fly to Oshkosh, instead pf identifying my plane as a Cherokee, they are likely to call me a Columbia 400 or Cessna 400. Here is a link to a bunch of pictures of the painting process for N519RV (40250)

Thanks, I was really worried about the colors when you pick them from a 3/4" x 1" sample from the colors book. But I am very happy with how the colors came out and look together. The paint is Dupont Imron AFS400. The White is single stage and the grey and blue are metalic with clear.

Default colors and or numbers

I am ready to order my paint and share your same concerns with the small sample chips.
Your colors are pretty much what I have in mind. Do you have the color names and or paint color numbers?
Thanks.

Default N888FF - Paint

http://img162.imageshack.us/img162/8629/dscn1909mv8.jpg

N888FF has 65 hours and first flight was June of 2007.

Paint was applied by Advance Aircraft Refinishers (Griffin GA) by Tony Diaz.

You may remember Advanced Aircraft Refinishers as they painted the 2007 AOPA "Catch a Cardinal" as described in 2007 AOPA Magazine.

The RV1O is a great aircraft and performs as per Van's performance numbers.

Default Nice paint job

Mark

Very nice looking job on your RV-10.
Was wondering, what the intake in front of the vertical stab is for?

Extra airflow?

Thanks
Marc

Default N888FF - Panel

The intake in front of the vertical fin is for the overhead air system (Accuracy Avionics).

The paint job was 12K and worth every penny, I am very happy with the finished product, Tony Diaz does outstanding work.

Everything in the panel works as advertised, Had some initial growing pains witht the Blue Mountain EFISs, but they are fully operational and perform as advertised.
