Hidden oil door latch

I know it’s been done, and I spent an hour with the search function, but I can’t find the picture that I’m looking for. I have the spring loaded hidden hinge, and I want to make a hidden latch from extra piano hinge where I pull it from the right air inlet. Any build logs out there show this? Thanks in advance!

do you mean this one?

Did the same on my cowling, works like a charm. None of those ugly fasteners nor tool needed :)
The release loop is squeezed by the baffling and the recess when the top cowl is mounted. Having redone the door outta .063, and not fully following the contour shape of the opening gives enough springback for the door to open when the hinge rod is pulled.
The only drawback, the area can be pretty hot after the engine has run...

PS
yes, I might, sometime in the future, install a hidden hinge on the other side ;) and paint the door...

Perfect! Exactly what I was looking for. I may add a Z bend at that support to retain the pin from coming out too far, but thank you!
