Looking at suitable standby alternators and am wondering if those that have used the B&C BC410-H if they have good service history. Particularly when installed in the lower location for a fuel pump or hydraulic pump on a 540.

I had one on my -10 running full time (not a backup) with zero problems when I sold it. 400ish hours. It was mounted on the upper vac pad mount, don't see why the hydraulic pad wouldn't work as long as it rotates the right direction. I've never checked.

Mine is on the Vac pad, no issues. It runs full time, not a backup.

Only thing you need to note is that it doesn't become active until about 910 RPM...

Mine is also on vacuum pad and is the only alternator. About 100hrs so far no problem.

Standby alternator

I've been running the BC410-H alternator on my plane for the past eleven years without a single issue. Great product! And wonderful peace of mind!!
