Last week I took off from 2OK2 about 0700 and headed west over OKC. I contacted OK City approach:

Me: OK City approach, experimental 781DM
App: 781 DM, OK City approach
Me: OK City approach, 781DM, just departed 2OK2, headed to KGUY, climbing 6500'
App: 781DM squawk 0404
Me: 0404, 781DM
App: 781DM radar contact, 781DM, say type experimental
Me: 781DM is RV9A
App: That's a pretty impressive climb rate you got going
Me: Thanks
App: Impressive, what does it cruise at?

I was climbing at 110kts, 1300'/min. :)

Honey, Please Stop Talking About That!

Is it wrong to tell my wife ten different ways in two hours-"you wouldn't believe how much fun I had today", or, "Man I had a blast today", or "it felt like my hair was on fire!" etc.

Performance examples of different flights:

Walking through Costco after going 236 mph over the ground.

Washington to the San Francisco Bay Area along the coast in four hours.

160 knots at 6.8 gph

Happy 4th!
