12-02 Rudder Bottom Fairing

Don_S

I'm New Here
See the picture below and notice that the hatched shape and the mold lines on the fairing are not the same at the left. Hatched lines go straight while the mold lines at the front curve downward.

Do I cut straight per the hatch or follow the curve?

This is my first post so let me know if i'm doing it wrong.

I am almost complete with my tail section.
The rest of my RV-14A Quickbuild showed up a couple weeks ago and is waiting for me.

Just follow the scribe lines for your initial trimming .. you may need to trim a bit more for fit. Most of the fiberglass lines in the kit are a starting point to final fit.

May want to also check out post 127 and 129 on the "Gotcha's" thread

"be weary of the scribe lines symmetry and ensure you cut short before trimming to the specific fit of your rudder. Figure 2 does not match the scribe line on the R-911 Rudder fairing."
