Here's an idea. I see Dan has what appears to be a very professional a/c weighing service. Why not try to get an example of each model RV and put them on the scales. It would provide a real world baseline of actual a/c weights. Limit examples to those that are painted with interiors. It would be a great excuse to meet up in Chino, swap stories and covet thy nieghbors airplane. :)

Yes I have, but how much do you want to bet that if you got those same a/c together at the same time, on the same scales that the numbers would be different? Flying a/c seem to have a way of picking up weight after doing the initial W&B.

Funny you mention that. I weighed my airplane TODAY! I just finished the annual condition inspection (early) and since I added an altitude hold (and since I'm the proud owner of very expen$ive Intercomp $cale$) I have added "weigh the plane" to my annual checklist.

The plane picked up 10 pounds since it was last weighed a year or two ago (on the same type Intercomp digital scales).

The 10 pounds is fairly easily accountable:
- Roady2 XM
- Garmin 496
- AlTrak
- baggage area carpet

I know lots of people say planes just "gain weight" over time. If they're talking about accessories and stuff added, I can see that.

If anybody needs their airplane weighed in CA, lemme know... http://www.weighmyplane.com
