Love my RV

I love my RV.
It's everything I need in an aircraft . I started taking lessons for the heck of it and right in the beginning, knowing nothing about airplanes, I saw a couple fly into and take off in an RV 6 at my local and besides being the coolest looking plane I could tell that by the looks on there faces that they knew something that I didn't and that was it, that's the airplane I want. We'll I was lucky enough to be able to buy a flying RV at 100 hrs as a PP and I now have about 50 hrs RV time since and I have no doubt that I have made the best choice in aircraft for me. It's everything I wanted. Just appreciating it.
VAF rocks!.......That's all I have to say.

You flew a lot!

I hear you Andy. The flying RV is so addictive the flyer couldn't even write any reports during 50 hours :D
Enjoy your RV there is no better airplane for me.

I will work on that VLAD.I haven't figured out how to post pics yet but mine can't rival yours so It doesn't matter anyway . I live near the airport so its easy to just slip in and fly circles before or after work and the weekend is a no brainer if the weather is half decent , my weekly fuel bill is kinda high but its worth it.

Yeah he even likes flying it over Long Island Sound when it is so hazy there isn't a horizon. But that's a story better told after a few beers when aviators are free to embellish the facts for dramatic effect.

I flew mine last weekend when it was 18 degrees on the ramp. Provided some motivation to plug up a few air leaks that, while bothersome in the summer, provide excellent tutorial on the "wind chill effect" I'd rather not experience in this early version of winter.

But nothing, nothing at all can take away the feeling of being one with plane that these things give you.

Thank you R BIBB

Yes that was an interesting maiden voyage and a learning experience and I thank you for the escort. The first thing I did when I got home was buy stick boots ,since I LOST my glasses in the hole, plug up the air leaks, buy a good co2 detector and followed that up with A GRT sport EFIS and an EIS and I now have my IPAD ram mounted on the right side panel and It s soo much better!
It's starting to feel like my plane now. When I get the cosmetics fixed up and my own N #s i will post a pic for VLAD.
Hoping to fly to Stafford for T day Richard , maybe we can get together for a beer at some point .
Once again thank you for helping me out with that trip.

The Grin is contagious.

Hanging with my RV today on a cloudy low vis winter day and my hanger neighbor shows up to do the same ,newer Cessna182 ,just petting the planes and the fog lifts , the clouds break and I say you gotta take a ride with me in the RV. I could tell he was a little hesitant but he agreed and we loaded up. This guy has no clue about RVs or that they even existed. I gave him a quick performance run down and we were off at 1500 ft pm , climbed out over the frozen sound , in NC a rare sight, and we saw the low laying fog to the south, a beautiful sight .I leveled off and I gave him the plane. It took 2 minutes for the GRIN to appear and he says " this is a whole different type of flying , the grin never left his face from that point on. We landed I pushed the plane back he says" man thanks that was great "and shakes my hand, walks away turns back and shakes my hand again and says lets do that again soon. The wheels are turning, Made ME grin. As I was leaving the clouds rolled back in ,the ceiling dropped and it started raining . True story.
I didn't build my RV but I can assure you guys that are first time builders that's it's well worth all the time, effort , frustration and money. Or you can buy one flying as I did and enjoy it immediately. I love my RV and so does everyone that I've introduced it too.

Thanks for the link.
I tried photo bucket but I'm having trouble uploading pics from my iPad, maybe I should try it on my laptop. Or I can let my girlfriend deal with it. I struggle with with this stuff.

For forum posts I use http://www.picturetrail.com
It has an old school interface with no annoying flash and no advertising. A free account gets you 75 megs of space, so if you resize the pictures before you upload then you can store plenty. It also gives you the links to cut and paste into forums.

I love RV's and I haven't even flown one yet! My parts are arriving tomorrow to begin my build. Can't wait!
