Battery Box Rivets..Small KAI error?

Built the battery box per page 29iS/U-09 Step 1 which says to put the manufactured head of the rivets on the OUTBOARD side of the F-01201-E-L2 and R-2....but when I got the Page 45iS/U-01 thru U-03, all of the photos for the Earth X battery install show the manufactured rivet heads on the INBOARD side. Either there is a small error, or I need to be more fully educated on outboard vs. inboard. It's a minor (12 rivet) fix, but I'm wondering...Am I reading or interpreting this wrong..? It sure wouldn't be the first time! Could not locate any revision to my plans, and I'm afraid the shop heads as I now have them may interfere with the battery. Any info appreciated.

Right or wrong, I placed my manufactured heads on the inboard side. Not sure if it was a conscious decision or just intuitive, but no issues this way. Proceed at your own risk 🙂

I'm unsure what I did with my plane.. I think the goal though was to do what Bob did.. that helps prevent the shop heads from interfering with the battery when you slide it in.

In Section 45, it appears as if the rivets are oriented just like in Bob's photos. I think the KAI could use some language tweaking. Maybe they meant to say "shop heads" instead.

Step 1: Rivet the F-01201Q-L-1 & -R-1 to the F-01201E-L-2 & -R-2. Place the manufactured heads of the rivets on the outboard sides of the F-01201E-L-2 & -R-2.

Thanks

i did mine with manufactured heads on the outboard side, Battery fits fine and plenty of room to spare.

Yes, I will give it a try..I was a little concerned that with vibration, the shop heads might eventually eat into the battery case if it was a close fit. It's just another one of those minor things that puts my OCD into high gear....and it would literally take someone only a minute to update on the plans....
