Buying Kit from Another Builder

If you buy a kit from another builder, will Van's allow returns on unneeded items even if you aren't the original purchaser of the kit?

I bet you could get a partial return from Vans Air Force Classifieds section. :D

My neighbor creates metal artwork and I've given him a few unusable non-returnable items with interesting results. You know, those parts that were the result of my "education".

You can return for credit

I bought a kit from an inactive builder, and it included the cable for manual elevator trim (the original owner had ordered the electric trim kit). I returned it to Van's and they gave me a credit on my account (for full value if I recall correctly). Next time I ordered something, the cost was simply reduced by the amount of the credit. I did call before sending the cable back.
