Does anyone know the AN or MS number of this type of nut and/or where to get them? Thanks.

I saw those. They appear to have a plastic “bubble”, the ones I’m looking for have a metal cap. They are definitely aircraft hardware. Brad

They may be used on aircraft, somewhere (btw, where on your aircraft are you using these?), but I don't think they're AN (or MS) spec'd. How would they be properly torqued?

ETA: Well, I stand corrected.

http://everyspec.com/MS-Specs/MS2/MS24000-MS24999/MS24679E_40001/

MS24679E, MILITARY STANDARD: NUT, PLAIN, CAP, LOW CROWN, UNC-2B AND UNF-2B (15 MAR 1990) [SUPERSEDED BY A-A-55629]

MS24680F, MILITARY STANDARD: NUT, PLAIN, CAP, HIGH CROWN UNC-2B AND UNF-2B (15-MAR-1990) [S/S BY A-A-55628A]

ETA2: I see what they've done...they're no longer MS parts, just commercial parts...e.g., for the high crown nuts:

A-A-55628, COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION: NUT, PLAIN, CAP, HIGH CROWN UNC-2B AND UNF-2B (03-DEC-1997) [SUPERSEDING MS24680F]
A-A-55628, COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION: NUT, PLAIN, CAP, HIGH CROWN UNC-2B AND UNF-2B (03-DEC-1997) [SUPERSEDING MS24680F]., This Commercial Item Description (CID) depicts the requirements for Nut, Plain, Cap, High Crown, coarse or fine threads, Class 2..

So there you go!

NAS hardware

These are NAS hardware, used on pressurized aircraft. "self-sealing", available as the nut shown, or in platenut. NAS 14xx series, I think....
