New RV-14/14A QB "starting point" documents

Hi folks,

We have published two new kit assembly instructions sections specifically for 14/14A QuickBuild customers, which list the initial steps one should take upon receiving your QB wing or fuselage kit. Essentially, these documents direct you to do two things:

  1. Using the Kit Assembly Instructions that describe the assembly of the components you received as QB, walk through each step and verify they are complete and correct.
  2. Follow a provided list of specific individual steps that call out tasks you must complete yourself, which are pulled from those sections you have reviewed.

Our goal here is to both clarify those tasks which you must perform and to ensure you don't miss the steps that are outlined. We hope this is helpful. Note that you still need to walk through all of the plans and steps, and verify the work performed by the QB team before it was sent to you. You'll eventually be signing a document with your name, stating that you have determined the kit is complete and in a condition safe for operation - so your review is an important process!

You'll find these documents in the Revisions and Changes section of the RV-14 Service Information and Revisions page on our web site.

Tangent: I'll also add that we're aware that there are a number of locations in the -14 plans that could benefit from some clarification or enhancement. We have that list (we call it "the collector" internally) and plan to work on these items over time, on an as-workload-allows basis.
