I am replacing my engine mounts with lord mounts. Is there a difference model for the top and bottom mounts? My research indicated there were all 4 mounts were the same. Was I wrong?
Thanks,
David

All 4 are the same, but the bottom 2 get installed the opposite direction from the top 2. There's a stiff side and a soft side to each mount, the stiff side gets put in compression (rear most position on top, between engine and mount on bottom). You also need a washer between the lord mount and the engine on the bottom or you get interference and things don't sit nice.

Didn’t see the extra washer note anywhere, really hate to take things apart now that it’s slowly coming together ! What is supposed to happen?

TIA, Kirk S

Thanks for everyones responses. Lord mounds installed correctly. The engine now sits too high. Any suggestions on lowering it and getting a bit more space between the cowl. 9B7ACE2C-BE65-4BB6-A725-96220B9D540D.jpeg

Just a thought --
You could put 1/8" aluminum spacer washers between the motor mount and firewall at the upper outboard corners, replace the bolts with AN6-26...

Er, no

Very common to (need to) shim between the mount(s) and the isolator(s). Didn't see what isolators you bought from a quick read. Get on that OEMs website and buy the required shims. It will also probably give you some guidance (xx" here equates to yy" at position zz, etc.) In a couple of years when they sag, the remedy will be "free".
