Superior cold air sump oil temp sensor solutions?

Io-375 with a superior cold air sump. Garmin sensor kit came with the UMA 1B3-2.5R oil temp probe. Sump has 1/2" NPT threads, sensor is 5/8-18. Bought an Autometer 2264 1/2NPT to 5/8 straight adapter but the sensor bottoms out before the copper crush washer is engaged (threads on adapter are too short or threads on sensor are too long depending on how you look at it). UMA doesn't make a 1/2"NPT sensor. So what are you guys doing for oil temp with a superior sump?

Thanks guys. I'm an idiot. I saw that third npt fitting in the pan and made an assumption. Installed it in the right place.

While I have you here, how about one more question. Half raven oil system install. There's 2 possible places to run the oil return line. One is into the bottom of the pan with the standoff going up, which is where it's currently at. The other is horizontal into the front of the pan. I think either conform to the installation instructions, but which do you think would be the better spot?
