NOTE: Area 'C' is 30nm and during our event, BUT ...
it's for 30nm from Kennebunkport, ME, not from Pease, NH ...
(the only people really impacted will be those who live near Kennebunkport - I feel for them on such a nice flying weather day...)
Then when asked about needing a discreet code or the Boston veil reqmt's given a TRF nearby ... he wrote:
They don't need a code under the 30 mile veil, just a mode C transponder.
Discreet codes only apply for the TFR.
Your event has been published in our weekly update, so there shouldn't be any surprises.
I hope all goes well. It's been my experience that things sometimes slide, so keep getting updates.
btw -- Whether you fly your RV or canard to the event, or drive, please sign the log at the main tent -- we'd like to have a better feel for overall attendance numbers and be able to show Van's good numbers to try to entice them to make the trip next year.

A special notice to pilots in the southern Maine area

FAA TO ESTABLISH TFRs OVER KENNEBUNKPORT THURSDAY THROUGH MONDAY
AOPA is sending this message to advise pilots in and near
Kennebunkport, Maine, that the FAA has issued a notam with multiple
temporary flight restrictions (TFR) in the area during President
Bush's planned visit from Thursday, June 28, through Monday, July 2.
On Thursday, there will be a large 30-nautical-mile-radius TFR
centered on the PSM VOR's 202-degree radial at 0.7 miles, extending
up to Flight Level 180. It will be in effect from 3:10 p.m. local
until 4:15 p.m. local.
Another 30-nm-radius TFR will be centered on the ENE VOR's 143-degree
radial at 8.3 miles, extending up to Flight Level 180. It will be in
effect from 3:35 p.m. local on Thursday until 2:45 p.m. local on Monday.
On Monday, there will be a large 30-nm-radius TFR centered on the PSM
VOR's 202-degree radial at 0.7 miles, extending up to Flight Level 180.
It will be in effect from 2:05 p.m. local until 3:10 p.m. local.
Also, there will be smaller 10-nm-radius GA no-fly zones in
effect within the larger TFRs during those time frames.

The affected landing facilities are Portsmouth International At Pease
(PSM), Littlebrook Air Park (3B4), Hampton Airfield (7B3), Foss Heliport
(NH45), Pow-Wow SPB (NH64), Skyhaven (DAW), Plum Island (2B2), Sanford
Regional (SFM), Chopper One Heliport (NH55), Goodall Hospital Heliport
(ME87), Rider Heliport (2MA3), Lawrence Municipal (LWM), Manchester (MHT),
Merrimack Valley SPB (MA2), Biddeford Municipal (B19), Ferncroft Village
Heliport (6MA4), Beverly Municipal (BVY), Waste Heliport (NH52), Portland
International Jetport (PWM), and Limington-Harmon (63B).
Because TFR airspace frequently changes, AOPA strongly encourages
pilots to obtain a briefing and CHECK NOTAMS before every flight.
TFR violators will be intercepted and forced to land.
