D-100 Reset Trip Time?

Tcheairs

Well Known Member
I have a D-180 as my primary EFIS and use a D-100 primarily in the EMS mode (Dynon EMS system installed). I can get to a Times page on the D-100 but I am unable to figure out how to do a MANUAL RESET the trip time. Manual says EMS>TIMES>TRPRST. But I do not have a TRPRST option on my Times page I am able to reset the clock and start a TIMER (which I never use) but no way to reset the current trip timer..HELP.

D180 trip reset

Are you able to do the trip reset on the D180? That should then relay the information display onto the D100.

Nope...no trprst function on the D-180 either...It would be nice to have someone's step by step tutorial as to actually how the trip is reset to 0 in the EMS..I could be missing a step as the instructions in the user manual seem just a little too simple..EFIS>TIMES>TRPRST...Maybe something is missing in my configuration..

How to reset trip time on D180 EMS

The D180 trip reset is via the EMS button which is second from the right. There is no trip reset on the EFIS side.
To reset trip timer on D180:
EMS>TIMES>TRPRST

Are you saying that I need to cycle to the 1/3 EMS mode on the D-180 and the TIMES button is the second one from the right?

EMS sub menus

Yes for the split display; if you have the D180 screen displaying split mode either 1/3 or 2/3 with the EFIS on the left and the EMS on the right then click button 5 to select the EMS sub menus. Then click "MORE" in the EMS sub menus to bring up the EMS "TIMES" menu, which then has the trip reset option to click.
In the D180 Pilots Guide that I have it is on page 10-4. It definitely works as advertised on the D180 because I use the trip reset every time I fly, though it took me a while to figure it out at the beginning. Attached are some photos of each step.

Paul, thank you so much. I don't know how I missed that in the guide after hours of searching. I had read the instructions on page 10-4 but NOWHERE does it mention that you had to be in the split screen mode on the D-180 to obtain the correct sub menu and TRPRST. I wish the Dynon manuals could somehow have been more user friendly. I see that that they lave "live" classes in Seattle to teach the use of the Skyview system.

I posted this question on the Dynon Forum several days ago and as of yet not a "peep" from anyone there. When I upgrade my it will be GARMIN.

I really appreciate you walking me through this.

Thanks again,
