Bus bar

I’m moving a row of circuit breaker to below the panel. There are ten breakers. What size copper would be sufficient for a bar across one side of the breakers as input power?

It depends on how many amps you are looking to carry.

If you sized your circuit to safely use 6 awg wire (65amps at 75*). The surface area of solid #6 is 21.2mm. If you want to use buss bar, find a bar with the same or slightly larger cross sectional area. Assuming we are talking copper here.

Keep in mind there is no requirement to recreate old school breaker buss bar schemes. I don’t use them - I don’t like thinking about a nut or screw finding its way down to short it out.
