My good friend and RV-10 owner, Greg Connell, died at PDK yesterday while performing in his Wolf-Pitts. No details yet.

Sad indeed,

Horrible news

Greg was class act guy,and such a pleasure to work with at our airshow in Winston-Salem. He will be missed..RIP Greg.

Just saw a clip on the morning news about it. Didn't know Greg personally, but have seen him fly a few times. So very sad, and a reminder about how dangerous air show routines can be. RIP Greg. Prayers and condolences to his family.

Pierre,
It's been a while since we've talked...please accept my condolences to you for the loss of your friend. I've lost a couple of dear and close friends myself, and it's never easy. Take care, my friend.

So sad

Have known Greg for many years. We see him at some of the same air shows we fly. Class act. So sad.

I agree with what the others have said. Not only an outstanding pilot but a real gentleman!

Godspeed Greg!

Pierre,

Thanks for posting this. The wife and I just returned from Greg and
Ginger's house. She was surrounded by family and friends at her request. As
one can imagine she is doing as best as she can. I last spoke with Greg on
Tuesday. We talked about the up coming PDK airshow, his Wolf-Pitts,
finalizing the deal on the land next to us and more importantly him taking me
up in my RV6A, which by the way he said you are the man when it came to
RV6A transition training. But that is for another time. I am including my
thoughts from this morning. I will miss Greg terribly.

I sat on my back porch this morning watching the sunrise with a
very heavy heart. Yesterday during the closing performance at
the PDK Airshow, a fellow aviator, my neighbor and more
importantly my friend perished in an accident. No one knows
what happened. Many theories going round. I look up to the sky
and I see the sun rising, wishing to hear the sound of that Pitts
flying overhead. Last summer my grand kids watched him fly over
the house and thought he was the best thing since sliced bread.
He was. He was kind, loving and giving. His passing has left a
huge hole in our hearts and community.

Beside Greg Brown, Doug Johnson, Greg Connell was a major force
in my continuing to upgrade my Sport Pilot Certificate to Private.
I will finish and fly in honor of him.

Please keep his wife and family who are hurting so so much this
day in your hearts, thoughts and prayers.
God Speed my friend.
