charging problems with my 4

after chasing a charging problem I finally determined that the International Electronics volt/amp meter was showing goofy voltages but correct amperages. A new one is $400.00 so I called them and they overhauled it for $78.00. This meter is 25 years old and they esentially gutted it and put all new insides in it. All I got back was my old case.

Geez, I have the same issue on cold start. The voltage shows ridiculously high for a minute or so and then comes down to normal values. It never dawned on me that I could get if "fixed". Mine is also 20+ years old.
