(2) G3X 7" portrait or 10.6" landscape?

I am working with Stein on a panel layout for my -7. I expect my mission will be trips with my non-pilot wife and occasional flights with my sons that may become pilots down the road. Solo flights may be the most frequent. I'm looking for thoughts on going with the smaller portrait screens in front of the pilot which is also cheaper, or going with larger landscape screens in front of each seat. If I did the portrait option, I could put an iPad in front of the passenger. Thoughts?

How about both

Both!!

I started with 2, then added the 3rd for the passenger.

I'm putting two 470s in front of the pilot with G5, GTR200, and a GMC 507 a/p in the center, a I'm installing a map box on the right side. I have the remote x-ponder, GTX 23ES.

I just got my two 470s and the 507 in the mail (UPS) today.:) Along with the sensor kit and a few other items.

When I did my 7A panel, the 7" G3X touch screens were not available so I did two, 10" screens which I like quite a lot. However, since I share a hanger with Walt, I've seen his plane as he has done his panel upgrades - of which there have been many. I like my set-up a little bit more than the way Walt did his but that's just a personal preference.

'Two 10's or two (or 3) 7's - they are both great configuations. If you make a visit to Walt's shop you can see his plane with the three 7" screens and my plane with two 10" screens and a GTN 750.

I put the big one in front of the pilot, then center stack avionics, and a 7" in front of the passenger. I still had room for a map box on the passenger side.

Thanks everyone for your replies, pictures, and perspective. Rick and Walt, I get down to your area for work occasionally and will look you up. Seeing both options in the same hangar would be helpful. I do plan to go IFR with a Garmin GPS 175 if that adds to the discussion. I welcome all the feedback I can get.
