Vapor Lock RV-12 Rotax 912ULS

Fan only draws 0.25A @ 12VDC, so virtually no drain on Odyssey battery.

I have the exact same fan and used it the last 2 times that I flew and I have to say IT WORKS..lots of hot air coming out out of that door!
Also I agree, the battery had near zero discharge after 15 min,
Personally, I like this 10 min mod and I'm going to keep using this little fan.
I've never had vapor lock on my 12 but I know this cant hurt.
Thanks and love this forum.

I think I have several fans floating around my shop.. I'll definitely put one of them to good use for this purpose..

Flew today with OAT-80F. Under cowling temp in cruise flight is 104F and fuel line temp at splitter is 110F. For what its worth…

Just a quick follow-up on oil access door cooling fan…

Yesterday we went to a Father’s Day breakfast fly-in and temp was 85F with killer humidity. Parked airplane and placed cooling fan (see post 135 above) over oil door. Had breakfast and socialized for two hours. When we returned to airplane the engine was at ambient temp. Pretty good trick…
