Borescope Inspection of cam through crankshaft???

I just read a comment made in General Aviation News about using a borescope through the removed plug in the front of the crankshaft for aircraft with fixed pitch props. Is this possible?

You can get into the case that way, snaking it up to the cam might be hard

Yes you can see up to the camshaft. I was surprised to see it done on my engine by my engineer. The view isn’t great but with a bit of patients you can see the important parts of the camshaft.

borescope view?

I did some more reading and apparently this is possible on the H2AD engine, but not the others?
