Trip Report: Friday Harbor lunch with wife

Last month my family and I relocated from Mountain View, CA to Poulsbo, WA with my RV moving from KRHV (San Jose, CA) to KPWT (Bremerton, WA). So with the moving activities getting settled down, or at least us getting tired of unloading boxes and cleaning up clutter, I was able to get my wife Kellie to make a lunch trip with me in our RV. And what a spectacular day and incredible scenery for the flight! Pretty cool day for about 30 minute flight each way.

For those still building, it was worth all 12+ years of building (and moving the project for military PCS moves)! Posted for motivation, and to let my former CA flying friends know it doesn't always rain in the PNW

If you are getting customs, the Victoria folks did not recommend Friday Harbor.

We used them a few years ago and could see why.

This month we used Port Townsend and had a much more pleasant, and efficient, customs welcome back to the US....

Having said that, Friday Harbor is a really nice place to visit and walk into town... especially if you live in Arizona.

Chris, I thoroughly enjoyed seeing those pictures! It's been just about a year since my wife and I went to Friday Harbor to go on one of the whale-watching boat rides. What a beautiful part of the country! Due to airline schedules and such, it was better for us to fly to Seattle, spend 3 days seeing stuff and then driving down to Vernonia so I could get transition training from Mike Seager. Coming up on the first anniversary of me flying my RV-6A for the first time!

Thanks for posting the wonderful pics, they are making me homesick!
I hope to make it up there in Sept for a long weekend.
Make sure to look up Vern at 0S9 and take a flight with him in his C140A.
Also, Bob Esk is still around PWT...
