I have mistakenly drilled and dimpled for a #8 screw were i was supposed to do the same for a 3/32 flush rivet. is there an easy fix?
it is were the top skin attaches to the aileron fairing. is there room for a nut plate between the fairing and aileron? ahhhhh help i dont want to change that whole top skin!!

A #8 screw should be a #18 or #19 drill bit. A number 5 rivet, if I recall, is a #21 drill bit, so the hole is already too big for that size rivet.

If edge distance allows, installing a nutplate would be okay, IMO (worth what you paid) :D

A call to Vans is likely your best bet for the proper solution.

Looks a little tight for a nutplate on my wing. You might be able to abandon the hole and add a rivet on each side with appropriate spacing.
