RV-4 Rear Seat Headrest

One of my recent passengers suggested a headrest in the back seat for:

a) something to rest on
b) to prevent banging the back of the head on the rear fuselage

Anyone have any experience with headrests on the back of the -4? Looks like I would have to mount it on the curved canopy support bar behind the back seater's head or on the top of the fuselage just behind the back seat.

Suggestions/pictures? If anyone's done this please forward pictures to [email protected].

Dirt simple, quick, and cheap. Go to EBay or Amazon and search for shoulder belt pad and you'll see a variety from lamb skin to leather. You could probably pick one up at the local Pep Boys, etc. They are about 12" long and velcro'd down the length. Fit this over the rear canopy frame that drops right behind the rear passenger's head when the canopy is closed. I used a small towel and wrapped it around first so it had some additional padding. It's been on for three years now and looks great. You can see it in the picture below, sorry I don't have a close-up handy.

I think that the flightlines are for the RV8, since it does not have a canopy bar that interferes
