Temp Shims on Flaperon Handle Detent Bracket Installation

Hi All,

Quick question for more experienced folks than myself... RV-12 ULS

Plans 32-08, Figure 1 and Step 1

Plans call for a temporary shim of 0.025 aluminum under the detent bracket on both sides. The trouble is it doesn't say when to remove them. I'm also curious as to what they're for.

So my question is: When do I remove the temporary shims?

I think I figured this one out...
In the Miscellanea section, P. 33-02 Figure 1, the detent bracket is removed so that the floor cover can be installed and then the bracket is re-installed. It doesn't say specifically, but even I can figure out that this would be a good time to get rid of the temporary shims.
