RV-14 While looking at for K1100-8D nutplates for the splice strips on 17-05, I discovered that I had used those early on in the build on 13-03 ( fuel tank attachment points) when I should have used K1100-08 nutplates?
Should I drill out the k1100D-08? s in figure 1 on 13-03 or leave them alone and order new -08D?s...my only concern is , will the dimpled nutplates have the necessary structural support on the spar flange that the flat nutplate provides? It would seem that the screw for the nutplate would be the primary source of support, but I don?t know if having a dimpled vs flat will cause problems over time.
