rocker switches

For anybody with experience with these rocker switches, can a row of these be installed edge to edge in a single long rectangular panel cutout, or do I need separate cutouts for each switch?

Never used them but judging from the picture AS shows, they snap into the panel with springy clips at the top and bottom. So long as there's no empty space in the hole you cut for several of them I would imagine they would stay in place.

Alternative

If you are not set on those... for rocker switches the classic choice would be the Honeywell AML series switches and a AML61 to hold them in place (which puts them side by side).

AML61EC8D would be the part number for 8 switches side by side. Use octopart.com to look look for sources,

These are the engraved - usually white - switches that you will see in a lot of panel pictures. Look for AML34 on steinair for the idea.
