Mounting AFS 5600 screen

How are people securing their AFS 5000 series screen to their panel? Are you using a lock nut, nutplate or perhaps a rivnut? There isn't much room between the system case and the screw hole to mount it so I am trying to find a way to mount it properly. I wanted to avoid a nutplate and having to drill holes into the panel itself.

Nylock nut

using #6 stainless screw with nylock nut here. You can always sand the washer on one side to cheat the room if needed. Don't forget to secure the case shield ground to one of your mounting locations.

Use a PEM nut or Nutplate, loose nuts behind the panel are a pain ...

Pem nut

Mark,

I installed PEM nuts for my 5600 after starting with (PIA) loose hardware. I was able to use a hand rivet squeezer to set the PEM nut in my panel while it was installed in the plane. Find me at the CH105 breakfast tomorrow if you want to discuss more or need help finding PEM nuts.

Regards,
