Cowl Horizontal split line for 8

I can't figure out where the horizontal split line is on my 8 cowl. Drawing says to use scribe line... but, you guessed it, there ain't no scribe line. Is there a reference on the fuse (rivet line or some such) to base the cowl split?

Horizontal Joint

I leveled the fuse nose to tail and side to side and then located the horizontal joint at the center of the of the crank. I built a water level to align the horizontal joints. The factory joggles in the lower cowl had to be relocated as they were not centered on the spinner opening.

Go slow, locate the parting joint on the fuse and make certain that you have enough material on both the upper and lower cowl to reach the horizontal joint. My upper cowl was trimmed at the factory just a tad bit short so I had to cheat the horizontal joint about 1/8".
