Prime Center Section?

Well Known Member
I don’t see many center sections (any?) being primed. Is it ok to prime the center section? I’m about to start the fuselage and have been filing and polishing out some dings on some of the edges. There are other areas with some abrasions so any prior treatment is compromised. I feel compelled to prime. Is there a reason we don’t ? Is it anodized? Should I just spot prime?

Thanks.

I scuffed and primed almost everything. There are some parts like the wing spars.. and possibly the center section? that are "clear" anodized.. so scuffing them is not really possible.. and primer won't really stick to them. Thats fine, the anodized layer is there for protection..

If it was a part that was "easily replaceable", I didn't prime it.. like the wing skins.. I felt that if a skin starts to corrode, its easy enough to replace the panel..and I'd save some weight by not priming them.. but the ribs I did.
