Primer Critique please

Just starting back on a new build after much time.
I am priming the 1st parts of the empennage with some concerning results.
It is amazing how much you forget when you don't do something on a routine basis.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Here are my steps:
1) Surface clean with acetone and a scotch bright pad.
2) Surface prep with Prekote in accordance with SOP, (2x), rinse, repeat if necessary,
3) Air and/or towel dry
4) Air apply 2-part Akzo Nobel with 3M Accu-spray 1.8mm head @ 95 psi line pressure, 30 psi open air flow at gun, and 20 psi full open with fluid at gun.

My issue: this results in a surface texture equivalent to 1200 - 1400 grit sand paper.
I'm looking for a smooth finish - I'm thinking I have too much air and not enough fluid flow.(?)
Thanks in advance for your help on this.

Orange peel

Sounds like Orange peel to me. Does it look something like this

Use less air or more paint.

Had that happen to me both with akzo and with rattle can. The rattle can problem was spraying without enough ventilation, overspray settles back onto the parts and textured them. When it happened with akzo I think it was a mix of the overspray problem, and a coat that wasn?t wet enough (too much air). Anyway a couple of things to check-
