RV-7A Truck Transport Ideas

Next month I am moving my nearly completed RV-7A from my garage to GloCustom for painting.
I am only 6 miles from Grady's shop.
The plane is not assembled so I will be moving a lot of pieces.

Here is my problem:
I measured my gear width at 90 inches. (From the end of the axle nuts)
Both UHaul and Penske 26 ft trucks have a door width of 87 inches.
If I take the axle nuts off I can get down to 89 inches. Still 2 inches short.
Maybe if I can lift the tail and take the weight off the tires the gear would narrow up a little.

Any ideas for getting the plane in a truck for transport? Any rental trucks have a wider door?

I wanted to use a truck because I have to take the wings, tail, and all the fairings, too and was trying not to make several trips.

Thanks for any ideas.

Best bet would be a flatbed wrecker for the rolling fuse and then a U-Haul for the other parts.

I used a wide snowmobile trailer to move mine. Tip it up, come-along the rolling fuselage on, lock it down.

I also used this trailer to move the wings & other large parts, separated by mattresses, air mattresses, sleeping pads, etc. This summer, I used it to move a pair of Challenger wings, which are about twice as big as RV wings.
