Oil Leak at Magneto

All,
I've got a nagging oil leak around my left mag. I replaced the seals, but that didn't do a thing. Is it possible for the lower stud to leak oil? Trying to determine if it's worth the time to remove the stud and attempt to seal the threads in the block.

Both my mags leak some oil at the bottom center where they join the engine. I don't think it's the stud leaking. I recently removed both for their first 500 hour servicing, then re-installed with new gaskets (dry) after cleaning thoroughly. Same thing.

I've been told I should have greased the gaskets?? Also noticed there are several "styles" of gaskets available.

So I, too, need the experts advice.

I've had very good luck using fuel lube (EZ Turn) on those gaskets - no leaks.
