RV-8 Fastback, question on which kit best

Do most go with a QB or use a standard kit, then buy a fastback kit or fabricate their own?

Since fastback 8’s are so rare, it looks like the only opportunity to own one is to build it, hoping the QB kit on the fuselage is a viable option to save some hours, anyway.

I think the Showplanes kit is designed to work on either.

I have a QB fuselage and did the showplanes FB. You’ll have to remove the canopy rails to install the FB rails. I’m pretty sure that’s all you remove to get started (it’s been a few months). I’m not the fastest builder and I’m glad I did the FB now. But it probably added 3 months to my build, my day job didn’t help any. If you have questions call Brian at showplanes. He’s easy to work with and can talk you off a ledge when you’re ready to burn the kit down.

Yes go QB or slow build and get a Showplanes Fastback and put it on. And Brian is Great to work with. Mike
