What chemical is best for cleaning the brakes when servicing them? Best way to get all the gunk and dirt build-up off? One of the LPS products?

I use brake cleaner from Walmart and a parts cleaning brush from Harbor Freight with a drip pan from the aviation aisle of Kragan. Dan

Mineral Spirits

I used low odor mineral spirits and a parts cleaning brush (paint brush).

Brake cleaner not only works great as a degreaser, it also works great as a paint stripper. It took the paint right off my wheels and erased the placard that was on there too

It's all part of the education I'm getting from building and maintaining my own airplane.

i USE A PRODUCT CALLED "BLAST" from P+S car care products. It is used with water, cleans well and is easy on paint.
