RV12 Service Bulletin 00067-Stabilator Mass Balance Reinforcement

This SB states: Synopsis: “Data from the field suggests the WD-1223 Counterbalance Arm is subject to fatigue failure”

“Data from the field” like what exactly? Does any one know what Vans is talking about? Can’t Vans take the time to explain to RV12 owners what the data from the field is?

Does it fail at the weld? Have there been any failures? How many? Is it related to hours on the airframe, installation flaws, manufacturing flaws?

It does seem like a strange failure. Doesn’t see like a high duty weld joint.
