5/32 holes in lower drag linkage

I'm at the step where I am to drill the 5/32 holes through the skin and the lower drag linkages prior to setting the 5-5 cherry rivets. It says to cleko each hole as I match drill but I don't have 40 cleko this size. Can I set a rivet in each hole as I go instead? What is the downside of that?

I just did mine last week. They are just trying to ensure you stay in alignment since there are 3 bolts that go through that block as well. I just kept the block in place with the bolts and then drilled the holes for the Cherry rivets. Drilled the 4 corners and put clecos in each corner after drilling. Everything staying perfectly in alignment for the rest.
