The people repairing my RV7A sent me this picture of my old anti splat nose job brace compared to a new brace. When reinstalling my new nose gear assembly Myers Aviation noticed the old anti-splat wasn’t laying straight on the new gear assembly. They ordered me a new anti splat nose gear brace.
Nate said: “had the anti splat not been there, they would likely also be replacing the vertical stabilizer” because the RV (based on the Force of the hit) would have probably gone all the way over when I hit the unmarked concrete abutment while taxiing last summer at Airventure.
Count me another “lucky fan” of the Anti-Splat nose job!
