Question Hartzell Governor

How much travel should you see on the prop control vernier knob?

Mine is a Hartzell S-1-10 and the full travel is 1.25". The cable is attached to the furthest out hole in the governor crank arm. Works great.

Also, this governor won't govern below about 1800 rpm so don't be concerned if it's not working and you are below that.

This will depend upon the length from the pivot center to the center of the attach point hole on the governors arm. Shorter distance = shorter cable travel, stop to stop

Granted. However, my S-1 has only 1 hole in the control lever, so it has a fixed geometry. The only variable should be the maximum RPM adjustment screw, which is a +-3/8".
