Garmin GMA 240 died?

Kbean

I'm New Here
My GMA 240 went dead last week. No lights or power it seems.
I’ve heard there is an internal fuse but my avionics shop can’t tell me where it is.
Can anyone help point it out on this pic? <SNIP>
Thanks

What's all that stuff that looks like swarf on the component in the upper left corner? And who did the hatchet job on the frame trying to pry it open?

If it *is* the fuse, remember that it only takes ONE errant piece of metal to short out a circuit.

I had one of those, and yes, there is a fuse. If you plug a mono head set into the unit and if the wiring is for stereo, it'll blow the fuse. Some other guy dove into it and figured out what fuse it is and gave direction how to fix it. I followed the fix and installed a glass fuse holder in there soldered to the points around the fuse. Worked great. I'll try to find the info.
