Gloss or flat?

Getting ready to paint my baggage area. Which sheen is hotter? Gloss will reflect; satin, semi gloss, matte, flat, less so. But, is reflection good on the interior? Will those pesky rays bounce around inside and heat things up? Anybody tested this? I rooted around the net and found nothing except which to use in my kitchen. 🤓

I prefer a semi-gloss but it doesn't matter. What does make a difference is brightness. On my RV-3B the baggage compartment is enclosed and I painted its top and the floor white for better visibility. If I'd thought of it, I'd have painted the interior of the sides white, too.

Flat will pick up marks quickly.

Gloss does have reflections. This has the curious property of appearing to reduce the overall brightness.

Primer

Agree. Leave it bare or pick a good epoxy primer. Choose a color you like and shoot it. Easy to touch up.
